Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a casting nozzle which is superior in spalling resistance and corrosion resistance against molten steel slag, and eliminates nozzle clogging owing to sticking of alumina by forming the inside circumferential surface side of the nozzle of MgO-C refractories and the outside circumferential surface side of Al2O3-C refractories. CONSTITUTION:The outside circumferential surface side of a casting nozzle is formed of refractories of Al2O3-C base 1, and the entire part or a part of the inside circumferential surface side of refractories of MgO3-C base 2. Or the slag line part of the Al2O3-C base on the outside circumferential side is made of ZrO base 3. With such nozzle constitution, the nozzle clogging owing to the sticking of alumina deposit is eliminated, and the corrosion resistance of the inside circumferential surface side is improved. Since the outside circumferential surface side is made of the Al2O3-C base, the drawback of the spalling resistance of the MgO-C base is compensated and the nozzle withstands use sufficiently under severe operating conditions.
