Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption of a circuit A, which performs the data holding operation, by turning off the current path between the power line of the circuit A and a circuit B connected to the circuit A at the data holding operation time. CONSTITUTION:A signal input line 25 of an input part 21 of a circuit A and an output line 28 of an output part 22 of a circuit B are connected. A switch 26 is connected in series to a current path 23 between the input line 25 and a power line 24, and a driving current is flowed to the output line 28 of the circuit B from the power line 24 through a switch 26, which is turned on for normal operations, and the path 23. At the data holding operation time, the circuit B is not operated, and the switch 26 is turned off, and no current is flowed to the current path 23 to the circuit B from the power line 24. Thus, the power consumption of the circuit A is reduced at the data holding operation time.
