Abstract

PURPOSE: To reinforce an inner diameter part of a grinding, polishing roll and to prevent the production of vibration, by a method wherein a unwoven grinding base cloth, whereon grinding particles are adhered, and a reinforcing sheet, made of unwoven or woven cloth having a very low elongation percentage, are alternately adhered by press into an integral on a concentric shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A grinding base 1, which is formed such that grinding particles are firmly adhered to a unwoven cloth made of synthetic fiber, and a reinforcing sheet 2, which is formed of a unwoven or a woven cloth, made of polyester, polyethylene fiber having a non-elongation or a very low elongation percentage, are alternately laminated on a concentric shaft. The lamination is pressurized and heated into an integral body to form a cylindrical grinding and polishing roll.
