Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the rolling surface of a ball from the work of unnecessary force by devising the plane crossing the center of a joint as containing the ball to be slidable for removing the double positioning of the ball.
CONSTITUTION: When an axis 12' of a cage 12 is inclined against an axis 11' of an outer race 11 at α degree, and outer ball center 2 of the cage is slided from an inner ball center 1 of the race 11 by a distance Δlo and the direction is inclined against the axis 11' at β degree. An outer ball center 4 of an inner race 13 is slided from an inner ball center 3 of the cage 12 by a distance Δli, and the direction is inclined at γ degree against the axis 12' and at (α+γ) degree against the axis 11'. At this stage, the inner ball center 3 is accorded with a ball pocket window 12a of the cage 12, and a plane 5 containing the ball is made to cross a joint center O, while an outer ball center 2 is only offset to the side of an opening end of the race 11 by a distance ΔC of a slide accompanied with the axial play between the cage and the race 13. The above-said construction permits to remove the double positioning caused by the slide of the plane 5 from the joint center.
