Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a rubber compsn. having excellent mechanical characteristics, processability and dynamc properties, by blending polybutadiene with a styrene- butadiene copolymer having a specified structure.
CONSTITUTION: 25W400pts.wt. polybutadiene having a vinyl bonding ratio of 25W 95% is blended with 100pts.wt. styrene-butadiene copolymer having a styrene content of 10W60wt% and a vinyl bonding ratio in butadiene moiety of 25W80%. If necessary, further at least one rubbery polymer selected from natural rubber, polyisoprene rubber, polybutadiene having a vinyl bonding ratio of 1W20%, and a styrene-butadiene copolymer is blended in such a proportion as to give not more than 75wt% said rubbery polymer in the total compsn. When the amount of said rubbery polymer exceeds 75wt%, the resulting compsn. gets to easily cause reversion of vulcanization. Thus, such an amount is not preferred. When said rubber compsn. is used, various formulating ingredients, which are usually used as additives for rubber compsn., can be blended.
