CONSTITUTION:Reference electric charges generated in electric charge generating parts 101 and 102 are sent to storage electrodes 121 and 122 through charge transfer parts 111 and 112 respectively. When a gate electrode 131 is opened, the reference electric charge under the electrode 121 is supplied into the potential well under the third storage electrode 16 and is held. Next, when a pulse is applied to open the electrode 131, the reference electric charge held under the electrode 16 is transferred under the electrode 121 again, and therefore, the potential variance of the electrode 16 is detected by a source follower circuit 22 to obtain an output proportional to the reference electric charge quantity. Similarly, an output proportional to the comparison electric charge held under the electrode 122 is obtained.
