Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a stable film of small coeffts. of friction by bringing a metallic thin film such as magnetic tape into contact with a belt impregnated with treating liquid while it is conveyed by rolls, and applying ultrasonic waves thereto then treating the surface of the metallic thin film with a remover for excess treating liquid.
CONSTITUTION: Treating liquid 4 is stored in a vessel 3, is conveyed with a belt 6, is regulated to a proper amt. with squeeze rolls 5 and is brought into contact with the metallic thin film on the surface of a high polymer film 2. The conveying speed of the belt 6 is equal to the speed of the film 2 to obviate flawing and creasing of the metallic thin film during contacting. An ultrasonic oscillator 7 is provided in order to accelerate the reaction of the metallic thin film on the film 2 and the treating liquid penetrated in the belt 6 as well as to promote the sufficient contact of the treating liquid with the surface of the metallic thin film. The excess treating liquid on the film 2 after the reaction treatment is absorbed with an absorbent of the belt 9 consisting of fabric or the like, and further the soln. left on the surface of the film 2 is dried in a duct 12.
