Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve an exhaust system in consumption efficiency and ability to be fitted under floor by disposing parallelly plural pipes, providing resisting member in at least one pipe, and connecting together said pipes through short joining pipes. CONSTITUTION:Mainly in a exhaust system of an automobile, an exhaust pipe P is constituted by connecting to each other branch pipes, formed by parallelly disposing plural pipes, i.e. two pipes 3a, 3b, through short joining pipes 4. Namely, flat surfaces 6a, 6b formed at one end of each pipe 3a, 3b are brought in contact together and inserted into one end of the short joining pipe 4. While a throttle pipe 5 is disposed in each pipe 3a except pipes at ends of the pipe P and pipes 3 at an engine side. Exhaust gas flow is first narrowed, joined and interfered at a short joining pipe 4, second enlarged at pipes 3a, 3b, while in a pipe 3a or 3b it is narrowed and interfered at a short joining pipe 4 after its speed is decreased by a throttle valve 5. Then, by repeating the above process, exhaust gas flow noise is muffled.
