Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the high density for the recording of information, by arraying plural main magnetic poles within a single yoke auxiliary magnetic pole and having selective contact between the main magnetic pole and a magnetic recording medium via a piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION:Plural main magnetic poles 13 are arrayed zigzag to a central auxiliary magnetic pole member 11A of an E-shaped yoke auxiliary magnetic pole 11 made of the magnetic matter, and a number of through-holes 11AH are provided to ensure an up-down movement for each pole 13. A piezoelectric element 12 is provided at the periphery of each hole 11AH. Auxiliary magnetic pole members 11B and 11C provided across the pole 11 are formed into such shapes so that the magnetic line of force phi forms a closed magnetic path from each pole 13 to a vertical magnetic recording medium 10 via the members 11B and 11C. The element 12 is provided independently of each other, and a signal line is connected to each element 12. A magnetic field generating coil 14 is wound round the member 11A. The tip of the pole 13 is held so as to avoid contact with a protecting layer 10A of the medium 10 and supported via the element 12 so as to be in contact with the layer 10A when the signal is supplied to the element 12.
