Abstract

PURPOSE:To concurrently form a molding and easily decorate the surface of the molding by a method in which a hot stamp film of a thermoplastic urethane elastomer is adsorbed by vacuum on the inner surface of molds, and then a thermoplastic resin is injected onto the hot stamp film. CONSTITUTION:A hot stamp film 6, consisting of a thermoplastic urethane elastomer film 1, a releasing layer 2, a top coat layer 3, a printed layer 4, and an adhesive layer 5, is enclosed between the core 7 and the cavity 8 of molds for injection molding, and then the molds are closed. At the same time, air 19 is drawn out of the vacuum hole 9 of the cavity 8, the film 6 is adsorbed on the inner surface of the cavity 8, and then a thermoplastic resin is injected into the cavity 8 through the core 7, whereupon the surface of molding is hot-bonded with the adhesive layer 5 of the film 6. Afterwards, when the film 6 is peeled off, the top coat layer 3, the printed layer 4, and the adhesive layer 5 are left on the surface of the molding to give it a decorated surface.
