Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve a foil-peeling at a metallic transferring time and to enhance a work efficiency, by a method wherein an under coat is formed with paint, having an affinity with glass in prior to a brilliant metallic transfer, on convexities in a letter or pattern formed on the back of a bottle.
CONSTITUTION: Convexities 3 in a letter, pattern or the like are first formed on the back of a glass bottle using a mold, the surface is processed coarsely, and is then applied with paint whose main component is synthetic resin such as epoxy resin having an improved affinity and close adhesion with glass to form an under coat 4. After the under coat 4 is dried to be brought into a half-curing condition having substantially no adhesiveness, the convexities 3 are caused to touch a hot stamping foil through the medium of the under coat 4, and a brilliant metallic transfer 5 is performed by pressurizing it by means of a heating roller. Then, after the under coat 4 is dried by heating, an over coat is formed where neccessary.
