Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A pyridinecarboxamide. compound shown by the formula I (R is H, halogen, lower alkoxy, OH, or di lower alkylamino; the ring A is phenyl or phenyl having 1W3 substituent groups selected from the group consisting of halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, nitro and OH) and its salt.
EXAMPLE: N-(5-tetrazolyl)-4-hydroxy-6-phenyl-2-pyridinecarboxamide.
USE: A drug having antiallergic action.
PROCESS: A 6-phenyl-2-pyridenecarboxylic acid compound or its reactive derivative at its carboxyl group (e.g., acid halide) is reacted with 5-aminotetrazole in a solvent, e.g., tetrahydrofuran, dioxane, etc. in the presence of a condensation agent, e.g., N,N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide to give a compound shown by the formula I.
