Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a flicker phenomenon of a discharge lamp by a mechanism wherein a circuit preventing the feedback of the oscillating output of an inverter is added when the inverter is controlled at a fixed time ratio by means of a switching circuit and the discharge lamp is lit. CONSTITUTION:A battery 1 is connected to an inverter 3 through a reactor 2, a fluorescent lamp 12 is lit by the output while a switching circuit 9 is controlled by means of a control circuit 16, the inverter 3 is operated and stopped at a fixed time ratio, and the lamp 12 is dimmed. Capacitors 17-19 are mounted at both ends of the base winding 7 of a transistor 4 of the inverter 3 and one end of a starting resistor 8 at that time, thus preventing the feedback of the oscillating output of the inverter 3 to the switching circuit 9. Consequently, the unstable operation of the switching circuit 9 can be obviated, and the flicker of the lamp 12 can be eliminated.
