Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the corresponding compound without a protecting group thereof which is an intermediate for a carcinostatic agent, by subjecting a novel adenosine- 5'-monophosphate(2'-5') trimeric compound to the decomposing conditions.
CONSTITUTION: An adenosine-5'-monophosphate(2'-5') trimeric compound expressed by formula I [group of formula III is the skeleton of adenine riboside; Ac and Ac' are acyl; Ph and Ph' are (substituted)phenyl; NB is o-nitro-4-and/or 5-(substituted)benzyl] is subjected to the hydrolytic conditions of the phosphoric acid anilide group, e.g. the reaction with isoamyl nitrite, the hydrolytic conditions of the phenyl phosphate group, e.g. the reaction with aqueous ammonia, the hydrolytic conditions of the acylated amino group and hydroxyl group, e.g. the reaction with aqueous ammonia, and the decomposing conditions of the nitrobenzyl ether group, e.g. ultraviolet light irradiation, to give adenosine-5'-monophosphate(2'-5') trimer of formula II. A compound of formula IV having an activity to inhibit the protein synthesis can be obtained from the compound of formula II.
