Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the unbalance of a charge current and to obtain a low cost charge and discharge circuit by providing rectifying devices so that the devices switch the connection in parallel during discharging and in series during charging where a plurality of storage batteries are connected in parallel between positive and negative D.C. buses. CONSTITUTION:A charger 6 and a load 2 are connected with a pair of positive and negative D.C. buses and a plurality of strong batteries 8a, 8b are connected in parallel between the buses which batteries are to supply a current to the load 2 during a failure. When, rectifying devices 12, 12b for preventing a reverse flow are connected to the storage batteries 8a, 8b to form a discharge circuit so that the both batteries 8a, 8b are connected in parallel to the buses, and a rectifying device 11 is connected to form a charge circuit so that the both batteries 8a, 8b are connected in series to the charge 6. The storage batteries 8a, 8b are discharged in parallel connection through the conductivity of a switching device 5 provided on the bus, and charged in series connection through the breaking of the device 5.
