Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the lubricating condition between an ingot and a mold by detecting the change in the frictional condition between the ingot and the mold from the vibrations of the vibratory driving source of a mold vibrating device and the vibrations of the mold and changing ingot drawing speed and mold vibrating period.
CONSTITUTION: The movement of a mold driving part is let input x(t) and is detected with a vibration detector 11a. The vibrations are amplified and are inputted to a signal processing unit 13. The movement of a vibration transmitting part 7b which vibrates a mold 2 is let output y(t) and is detected with a vibration detector 12a. The vibrations are amplified and are inputted to the unit 13. The gain G(f) and phase ϕ(f) obtained in the unit 13 are inputted to a recording display device 14 and a control unit 15. In the unit 15, the set values Ga(f), ϕs(f) from a setter 18 and lubricating information G(f), ϕ(f) are comparatively operated. Depending upon the magnitude of the results, the output signals of the unit 15 are applied independently or simultaneously to a drawing speed setter 17 and a vibration setter 16, whereby the drawing speed and the mold vibrating period are changed and the lubricating condition is controlled.
