Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a thin-film magnetic head having a high write/read efficiency without lowering the workability and the mass-productivity, by inserting a conductor layer via an insulated layer and as if it covered the overlap area of a coil and a magnetic substance layer. CONSTITUTION:The lower magnetic substance 41 is formed on the substrate 47 via an insulated layer 40; the coil 43 composed of a conductor layer is formed on the substance 41 via an insulated layer 44; and the insulated layer 48 is laminated on the coil 43. Then the plating substrate metallic pattern 45 of Mo or the like is formed on the layer 48 as if it covered the entire surface of the overlap area of the coil 43 and the upper magnetic substance layer 42, and at the same time another conductor layer 46 of e.g. Cu, Au, etc. is formed by plating or the like method to the pattern 45 so as to secure the inner gap length L'' of about 10mum. Then the insulated layer 49 is formed on the layer 46. Thereafter, a window is provided to the layers 44, 48 and 49 so that the layer 42 is connected directly to the substance 41 at the rear gap part A. Then the layer 42 is formed. Thus a transducer part is formed for a thin-film magnetic head.
