Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance white rust reistance of the elongated galvanized wire material by a simple treatment wherein the galvanized wire material is subjected to wire forming processing and, thereafter, directly treated with an aqueous solution containing a hydrolyzed tannin substance to form a coating.
CONSTITUTION: The galvanized wire material is subjected to the wire forming processing and, thereafter, directly treated by using an aqueous solution containing 0.1W10% of a hydrolyzed tannin substance such as gallnut tannin or the like without applying degreasing treatment at about 40W90°C for about 1W30sec. to form a corrosion resistant coating on a surface of said wire material. By this treating method, if a lubricant or the like used during wire forming is remained and adhered, the rust-ploofing coating controlling the generation of white rust is formed without obstacles.
