Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform stable treatment of waste water by reducing the power of rotation and also by preventing the exfoliation of microorganisms by the method in which a carrier of a low-specific gravity foamed synthetic resin to which microorganisms are adherd is filled into a rotator and waste water is contacted with the rotator.
CONSTITUTION: The rotator 3 permitting the free coming and going of water is filled with a several to 100mm diameter spherical or columnar foamed synthetic resin carrier of a specific gravity of less than 0.9, to which micrrorganisms are adhered. And, the original water 1 is introduced into the rotator 3 turning slowly in the microorganism reaction tank 2 where aerobic treatment of waste water is carried out in a manner that organics present in the original water 1 are biologically decomposed by means of microorganisms adhered to th carrier and then the clarified treated water 4 is sent to the sedimentaion tank 5 and the sedimented excess sludge 6 is discharged to the outside. Also, the final treated water 7 is discharged from the tank 5. On the other hand, in the case of anaerobic treatment, the whole of the bed 3 is immersed in the original water 1 are rotated to cause anaerobic biological decomposition of microorganisms.
