Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title material of excellent adiabatic property, light in weight, readily prepared for use by adding water and stir at a construction site, which is composed of burned particles of shredded rubber, obsidian, etc., as its main component, and its necessary quantity is packed in a waterproof package.
CONSTITUTION: The title material is a mixture of (A) shredded pieces, 1mm in length, 0.2mm in width, 0.2mm in thickness (each is of approx. value) of waste rubber collected from used tires and the like, and synthetic resin material of the equal elasticity as rubber, and (B) burned particles of obsidian, resin rock and pearl rock; and the appropriate quantity of the material is packed in a bag made of craft paper, hemp bag or vinyl resin container for transportation. At the construction site, the material is mixed with water of 60W90wt%, stirred well and utilized as foundation for shingle. This material is excellent in vibration-proofness, sound- insulation and absorbing impact waves, as well as being provided with appropriate hardness for striking-in a fixing such as nail, and is prepared for ready use at a construction site being packed in bags.
