Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce the electrostatic transfer type magnetic toner of good fluidity and superior developing transfer characteristics by buring and securing the fine particles composed of conductive fine particles or charge controlling agent in the surfaces of magnetic toner.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic particles having been so selected that the coercive force IHc of the magnetic toner becomes 200 to 300oe as well as thermoplastic resins are dissolved, kneaded and cooled, after which the mixture is ground to 50μ or under. Next, the ground particles are subjected to spheroidization, after which they are classified to grain sizes 5 to 30μ. The resultant spherical particles are added and mixed with fine particles, after which the mixture is treated at 100 to 150°C. As a result, part of the added fine particles are buried and fixed in the surfaces of the spherical particles and the other part are deposited by adhesion power. The magnetic toner thus prepared is classified to grain sizes 5 to 30μ and is further added with fluidity improver such as silica to be deposited on the magnetic toner.
