Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an oxidizing catalyst which is excellent in catalytic activity and durability by attaching the oxide of Ni, Mn, or Co to a resin support containing chlorine or fluorine.
CONSTITUTION: The oxide of Ni, Mn, or Co is attached to a chlorine-or fluorine- containing resin support, e.g., vinyl chloride resin, vinylidene chloride resin, polytetrafluoroethylene resin, polytrifluoroethylene chloride resin, polyfluorovinylidene resin, etc. The catalyst, together with an oxidant, e.g., ozone, sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate, etc., can be used as an oxidizing catalyst for the treatment of waste water and waste gases.
