Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize the initial reset circuit causing the reset pulse only when memory is volatile, with a very simple circuit constitution through the use of Zener diodes.
CONSTITUTION: When the power supply voltage V1 is less than the Zener voltage V2 of the Zener diode D1 and less than the memory storage voltage Vm due to momentary power failure, the said diode D1 is conductive, the switching transistor Tr2 turns off, and the charge in the capacitor C1 is discharged. Accordingly, when the power supply voltage V1 is restored, the capacitor C1 is charged up through the base of the transistor Tr2, the transistor Tr2 turns on while this period, and reset pulses are developed at the ouput. Thus, the initial reset circuit with very simple circuit constitution can be realized.
