Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the access mechanism of simple structure applicable to a cylindrical or part-cylindrical cartridge container, wherein a cartridge picker is moved spirally relative to a shaft arranged on the center line of a cartridge container.
CONSTITUTION: The access machanism 2 takes out a cartridge contained in a cell 4, carries it to a delivery port 5 of a magnetic recording-reading device 3, therafter receives another cartridge from an reception port 6 and puts it into the cell 4 again. The mechanism 2 comprises an arm 8 so fitted on a container 1 as to move spirally, with a cartridge picker 9 attached to the tip end portion of the arm 8. A threaded sleeve 10 is engaged with the screw shaft 7, and a flange 11 at the lower end of the sleeve 10 is fitted with a movable body 14 through upper and lower bearings 12, 13.
