Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate insertion of plates into the battery jar and to prevent plates from damage and separators from displacement during insertion, by inserting plates held by U-frames into a battery jar with the side walls and partitions which are parallel with the plates and have vertical grooves. CONSTITUTION:A group of plates 4 held by U-frames 3 are inserted into a battery jar 1 made of synthetic resin such as polyethylene and polypropylene. The battery jar 1 has the side walls and partitions which are parallel with the plates and have vertical grooves 2. The group of plates 4 are formed by laminating positive plates, negative plates, separators, and glass mats one over another, followed by pressing at 40-120kg/dm<2>, with the positive and negative straps 5, 5' formed. The group of plates 4 are held by U-frames 3 so that the distance P2 between the U-frames equals the space of the guide grooves.
