Abstract

PURPOSE: To form the two kinds of negative and positive toner images on the same plane through one stroke of operation by evenly charging the photoreceptor surface, projecting a negative image, performing reversal development of the destaticized part then projecting a positive image and performing the positive development of the residual charge part of the positive projected part.
CONSTITUTION: After the surface of a rotating photoreceptor 18 is charged by a charger 20, the negative image of character information is projected, the positive charges of the light radiated part are destaticized and reversal development is done by the 1st developing device 22. Next, a positive image (form information) is projected and the charges of the light radiated part are destaticized, after which positive development is done by the 2nd developing device 24. Next, the toners deposited on the photoreceptor 18 are charged to either polarity by a charger 26, or are destaticized by AC voltage. The back surface of plain paper 30 is charged to the polarity opposite from this by a charger 28 and the toner images (character information and form information) deposited on the photoreceptor 18 are transferred onto the plain paper 30. Thereafter, it is heated by a fixing device 32 to be fixed.
