Abstract

PURPOSE: The supporter such as cloth is coated with a molten mixture of thermoplastic elastomer, fat or higher fatty acid, tackifying resin and the effective component, thus producing plaster tape giving comfortable feeling when applied, by a covenient method free from troubles such as pollution and fire.
CONSTITUTION: Fat or higher fatty acid is molten together with a thermoplastic elastomer and tackifying resin such as rosin and then the effective component such as methyl salicilate is added to the mixture. The resulting composition is applied directly to woven or nowoven fabrics. When the heat stability and dimensional stability are not good in the supporter, the composition is spread on a supporter of high dimensional stability and then transferred to the objective supporter by pressing. The coated surface is covered with releasing paper to give said plaster tape. The thermoplastic elastomer is, e.g., styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer and the preferable fat is almond or olive oil.
