Abstract
PURPOSE:To equalize the AM-PM conversion by non-linear amplifying section, by controlling the function generator on the input signal. CONSTITUTION:After the input signal is fed to the phase modulator 202, it is multiplied with the reference carrier at the multiplication detector 204 and fed to the identifier 205 and the control unit 207. The output of the identifier 205 and the multiplier 204 is fed to the control unit 207 to generate the coefficient. On the other hand, the envelope detector 209 detects the amplitude of the input signal and the output is fed to the function generator 208 together with the coefficient generated with the control unit 207. The function generator is, for example, a multiplier and the signal on the two inputs is generated to drive the phase modulator 202 and the input signal is modulated so that the phase rotation by AM-PM conversion can be reduced, and the signal reducing the rotation corrects further the function generator and finally, the deterioration of characteristics by AM-PM conversion caused at the power amplifier can be avoided.
