Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the surge resistance force of the 2nd current/voltage limit circuit by absorbing the greater part of the surge energy at the 1st current/voltage limit circuit and then applying the leak surge to the 2nd current/voltage limit circuit. CONSTITUTION:When the surge protection is given for the subscriber circuit in the time-division exchange, the surge due to the thunder or the like and applied to subscriber lines 2 and 3 is absorbed by the 1st current/voltage limit circuit 4 for the greater part of the energy. In that case, the limit value of these current and voltage is set so high as not to disturb the transmission of the large-amplitude call signal which is sent out to subscriber terminal 1 from call signal sending circuit 10. And switches 13 and 14 are opened in order to apply only the leak surge which could not be absorbed into circuit 4 to the 2nd current/voltage limit circuit 15. Thus the circuit featuring the low surge resistance force can be well used for circuit 15, and accordingly the surge resistance force can be reduced for circuit 15.
