Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate defects of error due to temperature dependence and clouding due to dewing easily, by providing a heating apparatus to maintain the ambient temperature of the measuring cell above the specimen temperature at the inlet of the analytical meter constantly to keep alwats beyond the dew point of the sample gas. CONSTITUTION:In order to keep constant the ambient temperature in a heat insulation case 12, a fan 11 is provided at the air intake port, and also a hot air blow-out port 13 is disposed. A measuring cell 10 having a heating reactor 9 and a photoelectric transducer 15 is installed in the case 12. The heating temperature of the reactor 9 varies with the kind of the catalyst used. The reactor vessel is made from Pyrex or the like, and resistance heating element is wound around the vessel to heat. At this time, the lower limit of the heating temperature of the measuring cell 10 and the photoelectric transducer 15 should be higher than the dew point of the gas sample, whereas the upper limit is determined by the heat resisting temperature of the transducer 15. It is, however, preferable to use at a lowest possible temperature. By heating the measuring cell 10 to a constant temperature by some heating source, defectless analysis may be possible.
