Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the title catalyst with simple structure, high strength and no clogging obtd. by combining catalyst unit moldings such as plates each one side of which is provided with a plurality of gas flow hole forming ridges at predetermined intervals or further provided with internal flow holes along the direction of the ridges to constitute a porous body.
CONSTITUTION: One side of each unit plate molding 1 is provided with gas flow hole forming ridges 2, and the upper end and the lower end are provided with connection ridge 3 and fixing groove 4, respectively. Moldings 1', 1" are provided with gas flow holes 4 along the direction of ridges 2. For example, moldings 1' are comldings bined to constitute a catalyst bed in reactor 5. In order to produce these unit moldings, a porous substance is optionally mixed with an activator, kneaded with an adequate amt. of water, and extrusion molded using dies. The molding is then dried and calcined. When the porous substance along is molded, an activator is supported as usual after calcination
