Abstract

PURPOSE: To get a pipe coupling that can automatically comes off when an excess tension is produced, without efflux of fluid in the hose.
CONSTITUTION: A plug A is separated from a socket B, despite of any change in the fluid pressure, at a certain level of force determined by the degree of compression which is adjustable through control of a spring 33 with an adjusting screw 38. When the plug A is separated from the socket B because of an excess tension exerted on the pipe, a spring 7 pushes a slide ring 5 to shut close a window hole 4 on the part of the plug A, while a poppet 23 is pressed close to a slanted surface 26 to shut off a fluid chamber 20 on the part of the socket B. As a result, the fluid never flows out from the plug A and the socket B. For manual separation of the plug A from the socket B, an arm 37 together with a ring 36 is turned to remove the adjusting bolt 38 from a piston rod 35.
