Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent picture by correcting regenerated signals on the basis of results of comparisons between a VTR regeneration side and a reference composition side in terms of the parity of a field and the phase of a chrominance subcarrier when a VTR performs slow, still and high-speed reproducing operations.
CONSTITUTION: An irregular-mode regenerated signal from the VTR is stored once in memory unit 14 and read out to be separated into a luminance signal and a chrominance signal. Those signals are added by arithmetic circuits 31 and 36 to a one-horizontal-peiod out-of-phase signal and then divided by two before being applied to switches 35 and 40 together with a signal not to be processed. Depending upon whether or not the VTR regenerated signal agrees with the reference composite color synchronizing signal in terms of the parity of a field, comparator circuit 25 controls switches 35 and 40 and controls switch 42 which makes switching between the inversion and non-inversion of the chrominance signal according to the phase comparison result. Signals and synchronizing signals from switches 35 and 42 are mixed by composition circuit 43 to obtain output picture signal.
