Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an air cleaner having a high dust collecting speed and using an inexpensive, consumable dust collecting paper. CONSTITUTION:A fine dust containing air is conducted into a dust collecting chamber by an air blow means consisting of a motor 7 and a centrifugal fan 8. The fine dusts are charged with electricity by a charging part consisting of a needle-like positive electrode 3 and a flat plate-like negative electrode 4. A dust collecting electrode 5 of reverse polarity is provided to collect electrically charged fine dusts. The dust collecting electrode 5 is covered with a consumable dust collecting paper 6. A dust collecting part composed of the dust collecting electrode 5 and the dust collecting paper 6 nearly resembles the funnel in shape.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as a domestic air cleaning apparatus, a dust collecting electrode is provided for a needle-shaped electrode or a wire electrode, and a high DC voltage (3 to 8 KV) is applied between both electrodes to make dust and the like uniform. There is known a one-stage type in which electric charge is collected and dust is collected at a place. Generally, this type of air cleaning device covers the dust collecting electrode with an inexpensive paper sheet called dust collecting paper, and the dust collecting paper can be replaced. Also,
This type of air cleaning device collides with neutral particles and gives kinetic energy when charged particles move to a dust collecting electrode having a polarity opposite to that of the charged particles, without using a blowing means, and these movement and air The ionic wind along the lines of electric force and the convective air in the room caused by the viscosity of are used.

On the other hand, a blower such as a fan is used as a home air cleaning device, and a permanent charging unit for charging dust particles by corona discharge and a permanent charging unit opposite to the charging unit charged by the charging unit are used. A two-stage type using a charged electret filter is also known.

Among the above-mentioned conventional home air purifiers, the one-stage type air purifier has an advantage that the dust collecting paper, which is a consumable item, can be obtained at a low cost, but the dust collecting is performed flatly. Therefore, it is difficult to provide a blowing means. For this reason, there is a drawback that the dust collection speed is slow in order to deal with the case where a large number of pollutant particles are temporarily generated such as cigarette smoke. On the other hand, the two-stage type does not have the problem of the dust collection speed even in the above case, but since it uses an electret filter for filtration, the problem that the filter as a consumable item is expensive In addition, there is a drawback that the filter becomes clogged as the dirt advances.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the air cleaning apparatus of the present invention has an air blowing means for guiding air containing fine dust to a dust collecting chamber, and an air blown by the air blowing means. In an air purifying apparatus comprising: a charging unit for charging fine dust by corona discharge, and a dust collecting unit for collecting the charged dust, which has a dust collecting electrode having a polarity opposite to the polarity of this charging, The dust collecting portion is formed in a substantially funnel shape.

In the air cleaning apparatus constructed as described above, the air containing the fine dust is guided to the dust collecting chamber by the blowing means.
At this time, the fine dust is charged by the charging portion arranged upstream of the dust collecting chamber and collected by the dust collecting electrode arranged downstream of the dust collecting chamber. The clean air passes through the center of the substantially funnel-shaped dust collecting portion and is discharged. Since this dust collecting portion is substantially funnel-shaped, the flow of air follows the dust collecting electrode, and fine dust is collected on the entire circumference, so that the dust collecting area is widened. Further, unlike a filter, there is no time-dependent pressure loss with respect to the blowing means.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIG. FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view showing an outline of the air cleaning device. In the figure, reference numeral 1 denotes a main body case, and an air inlet is circumferentially provided on an upper portion of the main body case 1 through a prefilter 2 having coarse mesh for removing large dust such as cotton dust. .. Inside the air inlet, a needle-shaped positive electrode 3 and a flat plate-shaped negative electrode 4 (corona discharge electrode) for forming a charging portion for charging fine dust in the air are arranged to face each other. A substantially funnel-shaped current collector having an open central portion is disposed below the charging part, and the current collector is placed so as to cover the substantially funnel-shaped current collector electrode 5 and the current collector electrode 5. The dust collecting paper 6 having the same shape is used. When the dust-collecting paper 6 is soiled by dust collection, the dust-collecting paper 6 can be easily replaced by removing the top plate portion 9 of the detachable main body case 1.

A positive corona discharge is generated by applying a voltage of several K to several tens of KV from the DC power source 10 between the needle-shaped positive electrode 3 and the plate-shaped negative electrode 4 near the air inlet. The fine dust in the air passing between the needle-shaped positive electrode 3 and the flat plate-shaped negative electrode 4 is positively charged by the positive corona discharge by the blowing means. When the dust that is positively charged moves downward along the dust collecting paper 6, the dust is collected on the dust collecting paper 6 by the Coulomb force generated between the dust and the dust collecting electrode 5 having a negative polarity.

By making the shape of the dust collecting portion and the dust collecting electrode 5 substantially funnel-shaped as described above, dust is concentrated near the upstream side as compared with the case of the cylindrical dust collecting electrode which has been conventionally used. It is difficult to be collected, the rate of occurrence of reverse ionization phenomenon is reduced, and it is also effective for re-scattering.

The above embodiment relates to a two-stage type air cleaning device. However, as shown in FIG. 2, a one-stage type air cleaning device in which the charging part and the dust collecting part function in the same place This invention can also be implemented. In FIG. 2, the same reference numerals as those in FIG. Reference numeral 11 denotes an inverted conical support part, and this support part 1
A discharge electrode 12 is provided at the tip of the device 1. A high DC voltage is applied between the discharge electrode 12 and the substantially funnel-shaped dust collecting electrode 5 to generate corona discharge, and fine dust is collected.

In the above embodiment, the positive electrode is used as the discharge electrode to generate the positive corona discharge, but the negative electrode may also be generated by generating the negative corona discharge. Further, although the dust collecting paper 6 is used in the above embodiment, the dust collecting paper 6 may be omitted by providing a detachable dust collecting electrode so that the dust collecting electrode can be washed. it can.

EFFECTS OF THE INVENTION Since the present invention is constructed as described above, the dust collection speed can be made sufficiently high by the air blowing means, and there is no load fluctuation due to dirt unlike the conventional electret filters, which is inexpensive. Dust-collecting paper (similar to a paper filter for coffee) can be used. Further, as compared with the conventional cylindrical dust collecting electrode, dust is less likely to be concentrated and collected near the inlet, the rate of causing the reverse ionization phenomenon is lowered, and it is also effective for re-scattering.
