題となつていた。 In this type of blade-type cleaning device, the blade member is brought into uniform pressure contact with the surface of the photoreceptor drum in order to improve the cleaning effect, but during the cleaning operation, the blade member and the photoreceptor surface must have an appropriate amount of slippage. The contact force, rubber hardness, pressure angle, etc. of the blade member must be set in consideration of this, so that the surface of the photoreceptor and the blade member are not damaged as much as possible. However, such setting conditions are usually set taking into account the frictional force of the drum and blade members in use, so for example, when the photoreceptor or blade member is replaced, or when the machine is started for the first time. etc. (hereinafter this state will be referred to as the initial state), the frictional force between the surface of the photoreceptor and the blade member is abnormally large, and the above-mentioned sliding effect may not work. In particular, when a selenium-based photoreceptor is used, its surface is close to a mirror surface.
Frictional force is large when unused. In such an initial state, inconveniences such as damage to the photoreceptor or blade member or generation of abnormal noises occur, posing a serious problem in practical use.

のである。Purpose The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and focuses on the fact that when developer adheres to the surface of the photoreceptor drum, this has the effect of reducing the frictional force between the drum and the blade member. It detects that the photoreceptor drum or blade member has been replaced or newly installed, and when the photoreceptor drum is rotated next time, it performs at least charging and development processing, and at least this development part. To provide an electronic copying machine that prevents excessive force from being applied to a blade member in an initial state by separating the blade member from a photosensitive drum until the blade member reaches a cleaning part. It is something.

50 receives signals from each detection mechanism (not shown) in the copying machine and switch means for setting the number of copies, copy image density, copy magnification, etc., and controls programmed in response to these signal inputs. Since signals are output, the specific configurations of the microcomputer system and CPU are well known per se, and have no direct relation to the present invention, so a description thereof will be omitted.

If SW1 is closed, the signal is input to the input port (A 1 )
is input and determines that drum 1 is in the normal position,
If the switch SW1 is open when the determination signal is output, it is determined that the drum 1 is not in the normal position, that is, it is determined that the drum 1 has been installed incorrectly or has been removed for replacement. This determination signal may be output from the CPU 50 once per routine of the program to constantly monitor the drum position, or may be output only when necessary, such as when replacing the drum. The same goes for determining whether the cleaning device 7 is in the normal position.
A determination signal is input to the input port (A 2 ) via the input port (A 2 ).

Note that it is difficult to distinguish between replacement and incorrect installation by simply detecting that switches SW1 and SW2 are open, so during replacement work, a service person or the like should turn on manual switch SWN and confirm replacement operation. You can do it like this.

That is, the cam 25 is driven to separate the blade member 2 from the drum surface, and, for example, when a print switch is turned on, the main motor (not shown) is turned on to rotate the drum 1, and at the same time the charging charger 3 is turned on. The developing unit 4 is turned on, and the toner is attached to the surface of the drum 1. After that, the cam 25 is further driven to press the blade member 7 against the drum surface, and the drum 1 is rotated more than once, and then the standby state is reached. That is.
At this time, the timing at which the blade member 2 is brought into pressure contact with the drum surface is controlled so that at least the charged and developed portion reaches the pressure contact portion of the blade member 2.

At this time, the operating time of the main motor, charging, developing, etc. can be set appropriately depending on the photoreceptor surface, the blade member, the toner material, etc. It is preferable that the development is performed over one or more revolutions of the drum 1.

For example, it can be executed even when friction noise occurs in the area, or when there are parts where toner adheres to the photoconductor surface and parts where it does not for a long time, such as during reduction copying. This mode may be programmed to be set only by turning on the manual switch SWM.

It can also be used in a type of copying machine that forms an electric image, forms a corresponding electrostatic image on a dielectric surface, and develops and transfers the electrostatic image on the dielectric surface. In this case, the line carrier that holds the toner image is a dielectric drum, and the blade member is in pressure contact with this dielectric drum and is configured to remove residual toner after transfer. The method includes a step of depositing toner on the dielectric drum, and a step of pressing the blade against the dielectric surface after the toner-attached portion reaches the blade member portion.

る。Effects As explained above, when either the image carrier, the blade member, or both are replaced or newly installed, the blade member is separated from the image carrier surface, and the blade member is attached to the image carrier surface. This is because the copying machine is capable of executing an operation mode in which the toner is applied to the surface of the image carrier and the blade member is brought into pressure contact with the surface of the image carrier after the toner-adhered portion reaches the blade member portion. , when the copying machine is first operated, or when the photoreceptor or blade member is replaced, etc., when the photoreceptor (image carrier) or blade member is used for the first time in an unused state, there may be a gap between the image carrier and the blade member. The abnormal frictional force that occurs is prevented by utilizing the fact that the toner itself has the effect of reducing the frictional force, and there is no need to apply special antifriction treatment to the blade components, which has many practical advantages. It is something. Note that this effect becomes more pronounced if an anti-friction material is added to the developer.
