Description
Claims (20)
- 電気刺激を付与するためのリードであって、
リード本体を有し、前記リード本体は、遠位端部と、近位端部と、長手方向部分を有し、前記リード本体は、その近位端部から遠位端部まで延びるマルチルーメン導体ガイドを含み、前記マルチルーメン導体ガイドは、外面と、スタイレットを受入れるように構成され且つ配置された中心スタイレットルーメンと、前記中心ンスタイレットルーメンの周りに配置された複数の導体ルーメンを有し、前記導体ルーメンの各々は、少なくとも1つの導体を受入れるように構成され且つ配置され、前記複数の導体ルーメンは、前記マルチルーメン導体ガイドの外面から完全に埋込まれ、前記マルチルーメン導体ガイドの少なくとも一部分は、前記マルチルーメン導体ガイドが少なくとも1つの螺旋部分を形成するように捩られ、前記複数の導体ルーメンは、前記螺旋部分において、前記スタイレットルーメンの周りに螺旋経路を形成し、少なくとも1つの前記螺旋部分の螺旋経路の各々のピッチは、1センチメートル当たり0.04巻きよりも少なくなく、1センチメートル当たり0.8巻きよりも多くなく、
前記リード本体の遠位端部に配置された複数の電極と、
前記リード本体の近位端部に配置された複数のリード端子と、
前記複数の電極の少なくとも1つを前記複数のリード端子の少なくとも1つに電気的に結合させる複数の導体と、を有し、
前記複数の導体は、前記リード本体の長手方向部分に沿って前記複数の導体ルーメンの中を延びる、リード。 - 前記複数の導体ルーメンの各々は、前記複数の導体のうちの異なる単一の導体を受入れるように構成され且つ配置される、請求項1に記載のリード。
- 前記複数の導体ルーメンの各々は、前記複数の導体のうちの2つ以上の導体を受入れるように構成され且つ配置される、請求項1に記載のリード。
- 前記少なくとも1つの螺旋部分は、前記リード本体の長手方向部分全体にわたって延びる、請求項1に記載のリード。
- 前記少なくとも1つの螺旋部分は、前記リード本体の長手方向部分全体よりも短く延びる、請求項1に記載のリード。
- 前記マルチルーメン導体ガイドは更に、第1の直線部分を有し、前記少なくとも1つの螺旋部分は、第1の螺旋部分と第2の螺旋部分を含み、前記第2の螺旋部分は、前記マルチルーメン導体ガイドに沿って前記第1の螺旋部分から軸線方向に配置され、前記第1の直線部分は、前記第1の螺旋部分と前記第2の螺旋部分の間に配置される、請求項1に記載のリード。
- 前記第1の螺旋部分及び前記第2の螺旋部分は、前記リード本体の長手方向部分に沿って互いに反対方向に巻かれる、請求項6に記載のリード。
- 前記少なくとも1つの螺旋部分は、一定のピッチを有する、請求項1に記載のリード。
- 前記少なくとも1つの螺旋部分は、可変ピッチを有する、請求項1に記載のリード。
- 前記少なくとも1つの螺旋部分の螺旋経路の各々のピッチは、1センチメートル当たり0.1巻きよりも少なくない、請求項1に記載のリード。
- 電気刺激システムであって、
請求項1に記載のリードと、リード延長部と、制御ユニットと、を有し、
前記リード延長部は、第1の端部と、前記第1の端部の反対側の第2の端部と、前記リード延長部の第2の端部に配置された複数のリード延長部端子と、前記リード延長部の前記第1の端部に配置されたコネクタと、を有し、前記コネクタは、前記リードを受入れるように構成され且つ配置されたコネクタポートを含むコネクタハウジングを有し、
前記リード延長部は、更に、前記コネクタポート内に配置された複数のコネクタ接点を有し、前記複数のコネクタ接点は、前記コネクタハウジングが前記リードを受入れたとき、前記リード端子に電気的に結合されるように構成され且つ配置され、
前記リード延長部は、更に、前記リード延長部の長手方向部分に沿って延びる複数の導体を有し、前記複数の導体の各々は、前記リード延長部端子のうちの少なくとも1つを前記複数のコネクタ接点のうちの少なくとも1つに電気的に結合し、
前記制御ユニットは、前記リード延長部の第2の端部に結合可能であり、前記リードの複数の電極に刺激を付与するように構成され且つ配置される、電気刺激システム。 - リードを製造する方法であって、
細長いマルチルーメン導体ガイドを形成する段階を有し、前記マルチルーメン導体ガイドは、中心スタイレットルーメンと、前記中心スタイレットルーメンの周りに配列された複数の導体ルーメンとを有し、
更に、前記マルチルーメン導体ガイドを捩って少なくとも1つの螺旋部分を形成する段階を有し、前記少なくとも1つの螺旋部分において、前記複数の導体ルーメンの各々は、螺旋経路を前記スタイレットルーメンの周りに形成し、前記少なくとも1つの螺旋部分の螺旋経路の各々は、1センチメートル当たり0.04巻きよりも少なくなく且つ1センチメートル当たり0.8巻きよりも多くないピッチを有する、方法。 - 更に、前記マルチルーメン導体ガイドに熱を付与して、前記少なくとも1つの螺旋部分を固定する段階を有する、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 更に、少なくとも1つの導体を前記複数の導体ルーメンの少なくとも1つの中に挿入する段階を有する、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記マルチルーメン導体ガイドに熱を付与する前、少なくとも1つのマンドレルを前記複数の導体ルーメンの各々の中に挿入する段階を有する、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 更に、前記少なくとも1つの導体を前記複数の導体ルーメンの各々の中に挿入する前、前記少なくとも1つのマンドレルを前記複数の導体ルーメンの各々から取出す段階を有する、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つのマンドレルを前記複数の導体ルーメンの各々の中に挿入する段階は、少なくとも1つのマンドレルを前記複数の導体ルーメンの各々の中に挿入する段階であって、少なくとも1つのマンドレルの各々の直径が、前記少なくとも1つのマンドレルが入れられる前記少なくとも1つの導体ルーメンの直径よりも小さい段階含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つのマンドレルを前記複数の導体ルーメンの各々の中に挿入する段階は、少なくとも1つのマンドレルを前記複数の導体ルーメンの各々の中に挿入する段階であって、少なくとも1つのマンドレルの各々の直径が、前記導体ルーメンに挿入される前記少なくとも1つの導体の直径よりも小さい段階含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記マルチルーメン導体ガイドを捩って螺旋経路を前記スタイレットルーメンの周りに形成する前記段階は、前記マルチルーメン導体ガイドを捩って螺旋経路を形成する段階であって、前記螺旋経路の各々が1センチメートル当たり0.1巻きよりも少なくないピッチを有する段階を含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
