Description
本出願は、「METHOD OF FORMING A LIGHT TRANSMITTING SHEET OF A SOLID STATE LIGHT」という名称で2012年1月16日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/586,988号の利益を主張するものであり、その全開示が、本明細書に完全に記載されているかのように、参照することにより組み込まれる。
本開示は、概して、光学物品を形成する方法に関する。より具体的には、本方法は、シリコーン組成物が流動するように、ガラス転移温度以上の温度に固体シリコーン組成物を加熱する工程を含む。
各々が、直鎖状ブロック当たり平均で10〜400個のジシロキシ単位[R1 2SiO2/2]を有する直鎖状ブロックの中に配置された、40〜90モルパーセントのジシロキシ単位[R1 2SiO2/2]と、

式中、各R1が同一若しくは異なる、又はグループが事前に定義されているように、C1〜C30ヒドロカルビル基であり得る式の化合物を含むが、これに限定されない。例えば、このようなケイ素含有小分子の非限定的な例としては、Ph2MeSiOH及びPh3SiOHが挙げられる。

本明細書に記載のいくつかの実施形態の固形組成物の物理的特性は、限定されるものではない。いくつかの実施形態において、固体組成物は、120℃で0.0001m2/s(100cSt)を超える、又は120℃で0.001m2/s(1000cSt)を超える、120℃で0.005m2/s(5000cSt)を超える、又は120℃で0.01m2/s(10,000cSt)を超える粘度を有し、場合によっては、無限の粘度を有し得る。いくつかの実施形態において、固体組成物は、120℃で約0.0001m2/s〜約0.01m2/s(100cSt〜約10,000cSt)、例えば、120℃で約0.001〜約0.005m2/s(1000cSt〜約5000cSt)、120℃で約0.0005m2/s〜約0.002m2/s(500cSt〜約2000cSt)、約0.002〜約0.005m2/s(2000cSt〜約5000cSt)、又は120℃で約0.005m2/s〜約0.01m2/s(5000cSt〜約10,000cSt)の粘度を有する。
図6A及び6Bは、光学アセンブリに関係なく、光透過性シート308を形成するための鋳型600を示す。
2Lの3首丸底フラスコを、544gのトルエン、及び216グラムのフェニル−T樹脂(FW=136.6g/mole Si;35.0g、0.256モルSi)とで装填する。フラスコには、温度計、テフロン撹拌パドル、及びトルエンで予め充填され、かつ水冷凝縮器を取り付けたDean Stark装置が具備されている。次いで、窒素ブランケットを適用する。油浴を使用して、30分間還流してフラスコを加熱する。続いて、フラスコを、約108℃(ポットの温度)まで冷却する。
次いで、以下の成分を含む液体組成物を、調製する。
平均単位分子式
(Me2ViSiO1/2)0.25(PhSiO3/2)0.75を有するシロキサン4.93g。
(Me2SiO1/2)0.10(MeViSiO1/2)0.15(PhSiO3/2)0.75を有するシロキサン0.65g。
Me2ViSiO(MePhSiO)25OSiMe2Viを有するシロキサン2.5g。
H Me2SiO(Ph2SiO)SiMe2Hを有するシロキサン1.49g。
(H Me2SiO1/2)0.60(PhSiO3/2)0.40を有するシロキサン0.16g。
(Me2ViSiO1/2)0.18(PhSiO3/2)0.54(EpMeSiO1/2)0.28(式中、EP=グリシドキシプロピル)を有するシロキサン0.25g。
周期性(ViSiMeO1/2)nを有するシロキサン0.2g。
実施形態2を形成するために、40.04gの実施形態1の固体組成物を、トルエンに溶解して、58.1%の固体溶液を形成する。次いで、0.22グラムの1重量%のDBU触媒/トルエン溶液、及びIntematix社から購入した蛍光体粒子である1.40グラムのNTAG4851を添加して、混合物を形成する。次いで、混合物を、1.33kPa(10トル)で蒸留し、総量54.87gの溶液を得る。次いで、溶液を、厚さ50μmのフッ素コーティングされたPETフィルム上に、1mmの隙間を用いてシート状に鋳造し、次いで、室温で2日間乾燥させる。続いて、シートを、35℃でN2流の下、5日間加熱し、次いで、50℃の真空炉内に2時間配置して、約550μmの厚さを有する本発明の光透過性シートの追加の実施形態を形成する。
次いで、蛍光体を伴う及び蛍光体を伴わない実施例2及び実施例1の追加の試料を、それぞれ、移送成形により成形する。より具体的には、実施例2及び実施例1の両方の試料のトルエン溶液を、厚さ50μmのフッ素コーティングされたPETシート上に、1mmの間隙を用いてシート状に鋳造し、次いで、室温で2日間乾燥させる。続いて、シートを、35℃でN2流の下、5日間加熱し、次いで、2時間50℃の真空炉内に配置して、約550μmの厚みを有するシートを形成する。
Claims (11)
- 光学物品を圧縮成形機又はラミネーターにより形成する方法であって、
鋳型内に、光学デバイス、固体であり、かつ室温を超えるガラス転移温度を有するシリコーン組成物の少なくとも一部、及び剥離ライナーを配置し、前記光学デバイスの光学面と前記剥離ライナーとの間に前記シリコーン組成物を適用することと、
前記シリコーン組成物が流動するように前記ガラス転移温度以上の温度に前記シリコーン組成物を加熱することと、を含み、
前記シリコーン組成物が、前記加熱後の冷却時に光透過性シートを形成する、方法。 - 前記シリコーン組成物が、ペレット、回転楕円体、リボン、立方体、粉末、フィルム、フレーク、又はシートである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記シリコーン組成物がシートであり、前記シートが主表面を有し、前記光学面に対して前記シートを配置することが、前記光学面に対して前記シートの前記主表面を配置することを含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 縮合反応を介して前記シリコーン組成物を硬化させることを更に含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記硬化が、前記シリコーン組成物の前記ガラス転移温度よりも高い温度で行われる、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記シリコーン組成物が、少なくとも20,000g/モルの重量平均分子量を有するオルガノシロキサンブロックコポリマーを含み、かつ
各々が、直鎖状ブロック当たり平均で10〜400個のジシロキシ単位[R1 2SiO2/2]を有する直鎖状ブロックの中に配置された、式[R1 2SiO2/2]の40〜90モルパーセントのジシロキシ単位と、
各々が、少なくとも500g/モルの重量平均分子量を有する、非直鎖状ブロックの中に配置された式[R2SiO3/2]の10〜60モルパーセントのトリシロキシ単位と、
0.5〜25モルパーセントのシラノール基[≡SiOH]とを含み、
式中R1が、独立して、C1〜C30ヒドロカルビルであり、R2が、独立して、C1〜C20ヒドロカルビルであり、
非直鎖状ブロックの少なくとも30重量パーセントが、別の非直鎖状ブロックに架橋され、ナノドメインに凝集され、
各直鎖状ブロックが少なくとも1つの非直鎖状ブロックに連結される、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 前記ジシロキシ単位が式[(CH3)(C6H5)SiO2/2]を有する、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記オルガノシロキサンブロックコポリマーが、少なくとも30重量パーセントのジシロキシ単位を含む、請求項6又は7に記載の方法。
- R2がフェニルである、請求項6〜8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記光透過性シートが、単層である、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 第1及び第2の光透過性シートを備える複合物品の製造方法であって、前記第1の光透過性シートが、前記複合物品の第1の最外層であり、前記第2の光透過性シートが、前記複合物品の第2の最外層であり、前記第1及び第2の光透過性シートが各々独立して請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の方法により形成される、複合物品の製造方法。
