Description

The present invention relates to a connector for connecting circuit boards.

Electronic devices and electrical devices such as desktop PCs (personal computers), notebook PCs, and tablet PCs generally have a circuit board on which electronic components are mounted and another circuit board on which other electronic components are mounted. Built-in.

The connector of patent document 1 is a connector for connecting these two circuit boards, and a receptacle connector mounted on a circuit board (first circuit board, rigid board) and another circuit board (second circuit board). A plug connector mounted on a rigid board).
The receptacle connector includes a receptacle insulator and a plurality of receptacle contacts. The receptacle insulator includes an annular outer peripheral wall and a fitting recess formed inside the outer peripheral wall. The plurality of receptacle contacts are supported by the receptacle insulator in a state where they are aligned in the longitudinal direction of the receptacle connector. Each receptacle contact includes a tail piece mounted on a circuit pattern formed on the mounting surface of the first circuit board, and a contact piece located in the fitting recess of the receptacle insulator.

On the other hand, the plug connector includes a plug insulator and a plurality of plug contacts. The plug insulator includes an annular fitting convex portion that can be fitted into the fitting concave portion. Each plug contact includes a tail piece mounted on the circuit pattern on the mounting surface of the second circuit board, and a contact piece integrated with the fitting convex portion of the plug insulator.

When the mating protrusion of the plug connector is fitted (connected) to the mating recess of the receptacle connector, the contact piece of each plug contact comes into contact with the contact piece of each receptacle contact. The mounted electronic component and the electronic component mounted on the second circuit board are electrically connected to each other.

In recent electronic devices, the increase in the amount of information and the increase in communication speed are remarkably progressing, and therefore noise countermeasures in the devices are an important issue. For this reason, there is a strong demand for improvement in noise resistance and suppression of noise emitted to the periphery of the connector.
Patent Document 2 is an example of a connector with noise countermeasures taken. The receptacle connector of Patent Document 2 has a similar structure to the receptacle connector of Patent Document 1. That is, the receptacle insulator supports a plurality of receptacle contacts, and the tail pieces of each receptacle contact are mounted on a circuit pattern formed on the mounting surface of the circuit board. Further, a metal conductive shell is attached to a part of the outer peripheral wall of the receptacle insulator of the receptacle connector. A part of this conductive shell is mounted on a ground pattern (ground conduction path) formed on the mounting surface of the circuit board. In this way, the conductive shell is grounded to the circuit board, reducing external noise from the receptacle connector (and plug contact) of the receptacle connector and leakage of the receptacle contact (and plug contact) to the outside. it can.
Therefore, if the technology of Patent Document 2 is applied to Patent Document 1, external noise enters the receptacle contact (and plug contact) of the receptacle connector of Patent Document 1, or noise of the receptacle contact (and plug contact) is exposed to the outside. Leakage can be reduced.

特開2010−33714号公報JP 2010-33714 A 特開2008−16212号公報JP 2008-16212 A

However, the tail piece of each receptacle contact of Patent Document 2 is located closer to the circuit board than the end of the conductive shell on the circuit board side when the receptacle connector is viewed from the side.
For this reason, the connector in which the technique of Patent Document 2 is applied to Patent Document 1 may not prevent external noise from entering into the tail piece of the receptacle contact or leakage of noise from the tail piece to the outside.

An object of the present invention is to provide a connector that can effectively prevent external noise from entering into a tail piece of a receptacle contact provided in a receptacle connector that can be attached to and detached from a plug connector, and leakage of noise from the tail piece to the outside. There is.

The connector according to the present invention includes a receptacle insulator having an annular outer peripheral wall projecting in one direction and a fitting recess formed inside the outer peripheral wall, and a tail mountable on the mounting surface of the first circuit board. A receptacle connector including a plurality of receptacle contacts supported by the receptacle insulator, a conductive connector supported by the receptacle insulator, and the fitting recess. A plug insulator having an annular fitting convex portion that can be fitted to the plug insulator, and one end supported by the plug insulator mounted on the mounting surface of the second circuit board, and the fitting convex portion in the fitting concave portion A connector having a plurality of plug contacts, part of which comes into contact with the contact piece when fitted. Oite, the tail piece of the receptacle contact is positioned on the outer peripheral side of the outer peripheral wall, the conductive member, have a blocking portion opposed to the outer peripheral wall and the tail piece from the outer side of the receptacle insulator, The shielding portion includes an outer peripheral side shielding portion, an inner peripheral side shielding portion located between the outer peripheral side shielding portion and the outer peripheral wall, and the one-direction side of the outer peripheral side shielding portion and the inner peripheral side shielding portion. A curved connecting portion that connects the end portions and has a cross-sectional shape that is a convex curved shape on the one-direction side .

The outer peripheral wall has a contact attachment portion to which the receptacle contact is attached, and the curved connection portion is positioned on the one-direction side with respect to the end portion on the one-direction side of the contact attachment portion and the receptacle contact. Also good.

The conductive member supported by the receptacle insulator has a shielding portion facing the outer peripheral wall from the outer peripheral side of the receptacle insulator, and this shielding portion faces the tail piece of the receptacle contact from the outer peripheral side.
Therefore, the conductive member (shielding portion) can effectively prevent external noise from entering the tail piece of the receptacle contact and leakage of tail piece noise to the outside.

Each receptacle contact 50 is formed by the same material and the same procedure as the plug contact 25, and has a substantially horizontal tail piece 51 and a fixed piece that extends upward from the inner end of the tail piece 51 and then extends horizontally inside. A piece 52 and a substantially S-shaped elastic contact piece 53 continuous to the inner end of the fixed piece 52 are provided.
Each receptacle contact 50 is fixed with respect to the receptacle insulator 36 by fitting a fixing piece 52 into each contact mounting groove 42 from above. When the receptacle contact 50 (fixed piece 52) is fixed to the receptacle insulator 36 (contact mounting groove 42), the elastic contact piece 53 is separated from the inner surface of the deformation allowable groove 43, so that the elastic contact piece 53 is deformed in the deformation allowable groove 43. It is possible (see FIG. 7). Further, the tail piece 52 of each receptacle contact 50 is located on the outer peripheral side of the outer peripheral wall 38 (see FIG. 2).

Each fixing bracket 55 is formed by stamping a metal plate into a shape shown in the figure, and a pair of substantially horizontal tail pieces 56 is formed at the lower end portion thereof.
Each fixing bracket 55 is inserted in a fixed state with respect to each bracket mounting groove 44 from below, and each tail piece 56 protrudes downward from the lower surface of the bottom plate portion 37.

The pair of front and rear shells 58 are symmetrical with each other. Each shell 58 is formed by press-molding a metal plate (conductive material), and includes a flat plate-shaped outer peripheral shielding portion 59 extending in the left-right direction. Inside the outer peripheral side shielding part 59, an inner peripheral side shielding part 60 made of a flat plate parallel to the outer peripheral side shielding part 59 is located. The left and right lengths of the inner peripheral shielding part 60 are shorter than the outer peripheral shielding part 59, and the lower edge part of the inner peripheral shielding part 60 is located above the lower edge part of the outer peripheral shielding part 59. A curved connecting portion 61 connects the upper edge portion of the inner peripheral shielding portion 60 and the upper edge portion of the outer peripheral shielding portion 59. The cross-sectional shape of the curved connecting portion 61 is a curved shape that is convex upward (see FIGS. 7, 8, etc.).
Tail pieces 62 project from the lower ends of the left and right end portions of the outer shield part 59, respectively. Further, fixing pieces 63 extending inwardly while being orthogonal to the outer peripheral side shielding part 59 are respectively provided on the left and right ends of the outer peripheral side shielding part 59.
The front shell 58 has the left and right fixing pieces 63 placed on the left and right shell mounting grooves while the outer peripheral side shielding portion 59, the inner peripheral side shielding portion 60, and the curved connection portion 61 are positioned on the front side (outer peripheral side) of the outer peripheral wall 38. It is fixed with respect to the receptacle insulator 36 by fitting to 45 from above. Similarly, the rear shell 58 allows the left and right fixing pieces 63 to be positioned while the outer peripheral side shielding part 59, the inner peripheral side shielding part 60, and the curved connection part 61 are positioned on the rear side (outer peripheral side) of the outer peripheral wall 38. The left and right shell mounting grooves 45 are fixed to the receptacle insulator 36 by fitting from above.
When the front and rear shells 58 are fixed to the receptacle insulator 36, the front and rear outer peripheral side shielding portions 59 and the inner peripheral side shielding portion 60 are positioned on the outer peripheral side of the front surface and the rear surface of the outer peripheral wall 38, and the lower end portion of the outer peripheral side shielding portion 59 Faces the tail piece 51 of each receptacle contact 50 in the front-rear direction (see FIGS. 7 and 8). Further, the upper ends of the curved connecting portion 61 and the fixing portion 63 of the shell 58 are located above the upper ends of the front wall 38a, the rear wall 38b, and the receptacle contact 50 (see FIGS. 7 and 8).

The receptacle connector 35 having the above structure is configured so that each receptacle contact 50 is connected to a circuit pattern (not shown) formed on a mounting surface of a circuit board 65 (rigid board, first circuit board) which is a plate material parallel to the circuit board 31. The tail piece 51 is soldered, and the tail piece 56 and the tail piece 62 are soldered to the ground pattern formed in the mounting, thereby fixing (mounting) the circuit board 65 (FIG. 7, FIG. 8). Electronic components (for example, CPU, controller, memory, etc.) different from the receptacle connector 35 are mounted on the mounting surface of the circuit board 65.

Next, a procedure for connecting the plug connector 15 to the receptacle connector 35 will be described.
First, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the plug connector 15 and the receptacle connector 35 are opposed to each other in the vertical direction while matching the front and rear positions and the left and right positions. Then, the plug connector 15 is moved downward so that the lower end portion of the plug connector 15 is brought into contact with the upper end portion of the receptacle insulator 36. Then, each guiding surface 22 of the plug insulator 16 comes into contact with each guiding surface 47 of the receptacle insulator 36, so that the plug insulator 16 is moved and guided downward with respect to the receptacle insulator 36. And the fitting convex part 18 fits into the fitting recessed part 40, and the engaging recessed part 19 fits into the engaging convex part 39 (refer FIG. 7, FIG. 8). Further, since the contact piece 26 of each plug contact 25 comes into contact with the elastic contact piece 53 while elastically deforming the corresponding elastic contact piece 53 of the receptacle contact 50, the circuit board 31 is interposed via the plug contact 25 and the receptacle contact 50. And the circuit board 65 can be electrically connected. Further, the left and right connection projections 46 of the receptacle insulator 36 are fitted into the left and right connection recesses 24 of the plug connector 15.
Note that when the plug connector 15 and the receptacle connector 35 are slightly displaced from each other and the plug connector 15 is moved downward to be connected to the receptacle connector 35, the fitting protrusion of the plug insulator 16 is inserted. 18 front walls or rear walls may contact the curved connection 61 of the front shell 58 or the curved connection 61 of the rear shell 58. However, since the front wall or the rear wall (plug connector 15) of the fitting convex portion 18 that is in contact with either of the front and rear curved connection portions 61 is moved and guided to the inner side (receptacle insulator 36) by the curved connection portion 61, this In this case, the plug connector 15 and the receptacle connector 35 can be easily connected. Further, since the curved connecting portion 61 is curved, there is little risk of damaging or damaging the front wall or the rear wall of the fitting convex portion 18 of the plug insulator 16.
Further, since the mechanical strength of the shell 58 is improved by connecting the outer peripheral side shielding portion 59 and the inner peripheral side shielding portion 60 by the curved connection portion 61, the front wall and the rear of the fitting convex portion 18 of the plug insulator 16 are improved. Even if the wall comes into contact with the curved connection portion 61 (or the outer peripheral side shielding portion 59 or the inner peripheral side shielding portion 60) of the shell 58, the possibility that the shell 58 is damaged is small.
Further, an operator charged with static electricity may be connected to the receptacle connector 35 while holding the plug connector 15 with a hand or a jig. At this time, when the plug connector 15 is brought close to the receptacle connector 35, the static electricity falls to the curved connection portion 61 located above the receptacle contact 50, the upper end portion of the fixed piece 63, and the like, so that the circuit board 65 is grounded via the shell 58. It will flow (escape) into the pattern. Thereby, the electronic component mounted on the circuit board 65 can be protected from static electricity.

Then, the outer peripheral side shielding portion 59 and the inner peripheral side shielding portion 60 of the front and rear shells 58 facing the front wall 38a and the rear wall 38b of the outer peripheral wall 38 from the outer peripheral side (front and rear) of the receptacle insulator 36 are connected to each plug contact 25. And it is located in the outer peripheral side (front and back) of each receptacle contact 50. Furthermore, the lower part of the outer peripheral side shielding part 59 of the front and rear shells 58 faces the tail piece 51 of each receptacle contact 50 in the front-rear direction. Therefore, the front and rear shells 58 can effectively prevent external noise from entering each receptacle contact 50 (including the tail piece 51) and leakage of noise from each receptacle contact 50 (including the tail piece 51) to the outside. . Furthermore, since the upper ends of the curved connecting portion 61 and the fixing portion 63 are located above the upper ends of the front wall 38a, the rear wall 38b, and the receptacle contact 50, the shell 58 has a circuit board on which the plug connector 15 is mounted. The distance (gap) from 31 is reduced. Therefore, the front and rear shells 58 can effectively prevent external noise from entering each plug contact 25 and leakage of noise from each plug contact 25 to the outside. Therefore, the electronic components (for example, high-function modules, semiconductors, large-capacity memories, etc.) mounted on the circuit board 31 and the electronic components (for example, CPU, controller, memory, etc.) mounted on the circuit board 65 (a large amount B) High-speed communication of information becomes possible.

As mentioned above, although this invention was demonstrated based on said each embodiment, this invention is not limited to the said embodiment, It can implement, giving various deformation | transformation.
For example, one of the outer peripheral side shielding part 59 and the inner peripheral side shielding part 60 may be omitted from the shell 58. On the other hand, a shielding part (one or more) different from the outer peripheral shielding part 59 and the inner peripheral shielding part 60 may be provided side by side with the outer peripheral shielding part 59 and the inner peripheral shielding part 60 in the front-rear direction. .
Further, the lower end portion of the outer peripheral side shielding portion 59 or the inner peripheral side shielding portion 60 of the shell 58 may be soldered to the ground pattern of the circuit board 65.
The fixing bracket 28 may be omitted from the plug connector 15, or the fixing bracket 55 may be omitted from the receptacle connector 35.
Further, the base material of the shell 58 may be made of resin, and the surface of the base material (resin) may be plated or coated with a conductive material.
Further, the circuit boards 31 and 65 may be connected to the plug connector 15 and the receptacle connector 35 in a right angle (RA) manner. Further, a circuit board (for example, FPC (flexible printed circuit board)) other than the rigid board may be connected to the plug connector 15 or the receptacle connector 35.
