Claims (5)
- 無機繊維集合体を複数枚重ねた状態でレーザによって同時に切断してなる複数の無機繊維マットのうちの1つであって、
無機繊維集合体を切断した切断面以外の表面の少なくとも一部に対し、前記レーザによる照射処理がされており、
前記切断面及び前記レーザが照射された表面の無機繊維は、前記レーザによる加熱で互いに融着され、当該無機繊維の先端は、少なくとも一部が扁平形状であり、
前記切断面及び前記レーザが照射された表面の結晶化率が30%以上80%以下である無機繊維マットを含み、
排ガス処理装置の排ガス処理体とケーシングとの間に配置されることを特徴とする保持シール材。 - 無機繊維集合体を複数枚重ねた状態でレーザによって同時に切断してなる複数の無機繊維マットのうちの1つであって、
無機繊維集合体を切断した切断面以外の表面の少なくとも一部に対し、前記レーザによる照射処理がされており、
前記切断面及び前記レーザが照射された表面の無機繊維の先端には、丸みを帯びた溶融部及び扁平形状の溶融部が形成され、
前記切断面及び前記レーザが照射された表面に露出する繊維の少なくとも一部が前記溶融部によって架橋され、
前記切断面及び前記レーザが照射された表面の結晶化率が30%以上80%以下である無機繊維マットを含み、
排ガス処理装置の排ガス処理体とケーシングとの間に配置されることを特徴とする保持シール材。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の保持シール材であって、
前記レーザは、炭酸ガスレーザ、YAGレーザ、エキシマレーザ、He−Neレーザ、ファイバーレーザ又はダイオードレーザであることを特徴とする保持シール材。 - 排ガス処理装置の排ガス処理体とケーシングとの間に配置される保持シール材の製造方法において、
無機繊維集合体を複数枚重ねた状態でレーザによって同時に切断する切断工程と、
これらの無機繊維集合体に対して切断面以外の表面の少なくとも一部をレーザにより加熱処理する加熱処理工程と、
を含み、
前記切断工程及び前記加熱処理工程では、無機繊維が互いに融着して当該無機繊維の先端の少なくとも一部が扁平形状となるように、かつ、前記切断面及び前記レーザが照射された表面の結晶化率が30%以上80%以下となるように、処理を行うことを特徴とする保持シール材の製造方法。 - 請求項4に記載の保持シール材の製造方法であって、
前記レーザは、炭酸ガスレーザ、YAGレーザ、エキシマレーザ、He−Neレーザ、ファイバーレーザ又はダイオードレーザであることを特徴とする保持シール材の製造方法。
