本発明は、車両に搭載した内燃機関において、これに大気空気を導入するための吸気装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
最近における車両用内燃機関では、例えば、実開平2−147855号公報等記載されているように、エアクリーナを、内燃機関の上面に、当該エアクリーナにおけるクリーンサイドが前記内燃機関における左右両長手側面のうち一方の長手側面に取付けた吸気マニホールドに接続するようにして配設しているが、このようにエアクリーナを内燃機関の上面に配設する場合、エアクリーナは、その高さを低くするように偏平な形状に構成しなければならない。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、エアクリーナを、その高さを低くするように偏平な形状に構成すると、その一部が、内燃機関における左右両長手側面のうち他方の長手側面より外向きにはみ出すことになるが、内燃機関における他方の長手側面には、排気マニホールド等のように高温に加熱されたる排気系部品が取付けられていることにより、前記エアクリーナのうち内燃機関における他方の長手側面より外向きにはみ出した部分には、前記排気系部品からの輻射熱が及ぶことに加えて、前記排気系部品で加熱された空気が当って、高い温度に温められ、ひいては、このエアクリーナ内における吸気も、高い温度に温められるから、内燃機関に対する空気の充填効率の低下、ひいては、内燃機関の出力の低下を招来すると言う問題があった。

また、エアクリーナを、高さの低い偏平な形状にすると、その底板が膜振動し易くなるから、吸気騒音が増大すると言う問題もあった。
本発明は、これらの問題を解消した吸気装置を提供することを技術的課題とするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
この技術的課題を達成するため本発明は、
「車両に搭載した内燃機関における左右両長手側面のうち一方の長手側面に吸気マニホールドを他方の長手側面に排気系部品を各々装着する一方、前記内燃機関の上面に、前記吸気マニホールドに接続されるエアクリーナを、当該エアクリーナの一部が前記内燃機関における他方の長手側面より外向きにはみ出すように配設して成る吸気装置において、
前記エアクリーナの下面のうち少なくとも前記内燃機関における他方の長手側面からはみ出した部分に、エアクリーナの下面に近接してこれと略平行に延びる遮熱板を、当該遮熱板と前記エアクリーナの下面との間に車両の前後方向に延びる通風路を形成するように一体に設ける。」
と言う構成にした。

【発明の作用・効果】
このように構成することにより、エアクリーナの下面と遮熱板との間における通風路内には、車両の走行に際して発生する走行風が吹き抜けることになるから、排気系部品からエアクリーナへの輻射熱、及び排気系部品で加熱された空気がエアクリーナに当たることを、この走行風の吹き抜けと、前記遮熱板とで確実に遮断することができることに加えて、前記通風路内を吹き抜ける走行風にて、エアクリーナを積極的に冷却することができるのである。

従って、本発明によると、内燃機関の上面に配設したエアクリーナの一部が排気系部品の方向にはみ出している場合において、このエアクリーナが排気系部品によって温めことを確実に防止できると共に、このエアクリーナをより低い温度に冷却できるから、内燃機関に対する空気の充填効率を向上でき、ひいては、内燃機関の出力を向上できる効果を有する。

特に、請求項2に記載したように、遮熱板を、エアクリーナの下面に対して、当該下面に沿って車両の横方向に適宜間隔で配設した複数枚のリブ板を介して一体的に連結することにより、エアクリーナにおける底板を、前記遮熱板及び複数枚のリプ板にて補強することができて、その膜振動を抑制できるから、吸気騒音の低減を確実に達成できる効果を有する。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を、図1〜図4の図面について説明する。
この図において、符号1は内燃機関を示し、この内燃機関1は、車両の車体フレーム2におけるフロントエンジンルーム3内に、平面視においてそのクランク軸線4が車両の走行方向に対して略直角になるように横向きにして搭載されている。

また、前記内燃機関1における左右両長手側面5,6のうち車両の走行方向に対して後ろ向きになる一方の長手側面5に吸気マニホールド7が、車両の走行方向に対して前向きになる他方の長手側面6に排気マニホールド8が各々装着され、且つ、この内燃機関1の前方の部位に、当該内燃機関1に対する冷却用のラジエータ9が配設されている。

更にまた、前記内燃機関1の上面には、エアクリーナ10が、そのクリーンサイドを前記吸気マニホールド7に接続するようにして配設されている。
このエアクリーナ10におけるダストサイドには、大気空気の導入ダクト11が接続され、且つ、このエアクリーナ10は、高さの低い偏平状で、そのダストサイドの一部が、前記内燃機関における左右両長手側面5,6のうち車両の走行方向に対して前向きに他方の長手側面6から前方にはみ出すように構成されている。

そして、前記エアクリーナ10の下面10aのうち少なくとも前記内燃機関1における他方の長手側面6からはみ出した部分に、エアクリーナ10の下面10aに近接してこれと略平行に延びる遮熱板11を、当該遮熱板11と前記エアクリーナ10の下面10aとの間に車両の前後方向に延びる通風路12を形成するように一体に設けて、この遮熱板11を、エアクリーナ10の下面10aに対して、当該下面10aに沿って車両の横方向に適宜間隔で配設した複数枚のリブ板13を介して一体的に連結する。

なお、前記エアクリーナ10を金属板製にする場合には、これに遮熱板11及び各リブ板13を溶接にて一体的に接合するが、前記エアクリーナ10を合成樹脂製にする場合には、このエアクリーナを合成樹脂にて成形するとき同時に、これに遮熱板11及び各リブ板13を一体化して成形すれば良い。
このように構成することにより、エアクリーナ10の下面10aと遮熱板11との間における通風路12内には、車両の走行に際して発生する走行風が矢印で示すように吹き抜けることになるから、排気マニホールド8からエアクリーナ10への輻射熱、及び排気マニホールド8で加熱された空気がエアクリーナ10に当たることを、この走行風の吹き抜けと、前記遮熱板11とで確実に遮断することができることに加えて、前記通風路12内を吹き抜ける走行風にて、エアクリーナ10を積極的に冷却することができるのである。

また、前記遮熱板11を、エアクリーナ10の下面10aに対して、当該下面10aに沿って車両の横方向に適宜間隔で配設した複数枚のリブ板13を介して一体的に連結したことにより、エアクリーナ10における底板10bを、前記遮熱板11及び複数枚のリプ板13にて補強することができるから、その膜振動を抑制できる。
