Abstract

Embodiments of present disclosure relate to a charger (100). The charger (100) comprises: a plurality of charging ports (101, 102); an AC/DC converter (103), which is configured to provide a first rated charging power when one of the plurality of charging ports (101, 102) is connected to a device to be charged, and which is further configured to provide a second rated charging power when at least two of the plurality of charging ports (101, 102) are connected to devices to be charged, wherein the first rated charging power is higher than the second rated charging power; and a controller (104) coupled between the plurality of charging ports (101, 102) and the AC/DC converter (103), wherein the controller (104) is configured to control the AC/DC (103) converter to select the first rated charging power or the second rated charging power according to a connection state of the device to be charged and the plurality of charging ports (101, 102), and keep a total charging power of the AC/DC (103) converter below a threshold power.
