A furniture leg assembly includes a T- shaped nut 1, a leg 7 having a bolt 6 and a face plate 10 with a rim 11 and a locating projection 12 to engage in a notch 13 in the underside 8 of the furniture base 9, the plate 10 being inclined to cause the leg to be at an angle to the base 9. The base 9 has a T-shaped slot 15 so that the nut can be inserted from below and moved into the shorter leg of the slot and retained there against rotation as the leg is screwed in.
