Shuttering for casting concrete columns comprises a tube 10 formed of a single sheet with abutting flanges 13, 14 secured together by bars 17, 18 and bolts 19 and surrounded by a ring the two parts of which are connected by a turnbuckle 31 and a bolt 26. The ring may cover the joint between two coaxial tubes 10.
