A garment hanger has a straight tube 1 in which slide garment engaging members under the pressure of a spring 11, the shanks 5 of the said members having flats 7 which are engaged by internal projections 8 in the tube wall to limit sliding movement in both directions. The suspension hook 4 may be detachable so that the arms 6 may extend upward or downward.
