Abstract
949,218. Valves. R. P. R. DE LA POYPE, and C. AUBIN. May 23, 1960 [Oct. 27, 1959], No. 18040/60 Heading F2V. A fluid control valve, which is formed from a central body I and two side plates 2, 3, has two fluid connections 5, 6, which when the former constitutes the inlet, are interconnected by two parallel paths ; one path comprising a passage 7, annular groove 8, a chamber 9, a channel 10 coaxial with the groove 8, a chamber 11 and a passage 12 ; the other path is formed by a port 17 from passage 7, and a recess 11a that is part of chamber 11. Channel 10 extends between chambers 9 and 11. Flow from the groove 8 to chamber 9 is controlled by a diaphragm check valve 13 with an orifice 15 in line with the channel 10, whilst flow from port 17 to recess 11a is controlled by a diaphragm closure 19 having a push member 20, the position of which is adjustable via a screw. When connection 6 is the inlet, fluid can only flow to the outlet connection 5 through chamber 11 and port 17, the check valve being seated by fluid admitted to chamber 9 from chamber 11 through the channel 10 and orifice 15. The groove 8 need not be of annular shape. One such valve may be inserted in each fluid line to a double-acting piston and cylinder.
