Abstract

943,154. Toys. ONG LIU-HONG. April 24, 1962 [July 27, 1961], No. 27343/61. Heading A6S. A mechanical doll has a manually operable actuator mounted on or in the body of the doll and accessible from the back of the body and mechanical means within the doll to interconnect the actuator with the head and with the arms so that movement of the actuator will effect rotary movement of the head and simultaneous swinging movement of the arms. The head 11 of a doll is mounted on the upper end of an upright shaft 14 and is rotated through bevel gears 19, 20 or a wheel by turning a knob 13 or the wheel projects from the back of the doll. The shaft 14 has a bevel gear 15 in mesh with a bevel gear 16 at one end of two shafts 17 connected to the arms. The shaft 14 may be extended downwardly and mount a bevel gear 25, Fig. 6, in mesh with a pair of bevel gears 26 on shafts 27 connected to the legs 24, whereby the legs also reciprocate with the arm and head movement. The gears are mounted in casings 28 with flanges 29 which engage in sockets in the body.
