Abstract

915,596. Plastics containers; packages; container closures. PLASTOMATIC CORPORATION. Nov. 9, 1960 [Dec. 15, 1959], No. 38557/60. Classes 66, 94(1) and 125(3). A container of synthetic plastics material has an integral tear-off rim 12 and tab 16, the container being closed, after filling, with a film 15 of plastics material sealed to the rim 12. The container and closure may be heat-sealed by applying heat and pressure. The container may be of polypropylene or polythene, and the film 15 of polythenes, polythene-coated cellophane or polypropylene. The torn-off rim and cover may be re-applied as a removable closure, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown). In a modification, Fig. 8, the tear-off rim 12A does not extend above the upper edge of the body wall of the container. The container may be of circular, rectangular, oval or octagonal crosssection. The film 15 may be transparent for viewing the container contents and may have printed matter on it. The film may be treated so that it is microporous to permit the passage of gas but not of moisture from the container contents.
