Abstract
909,647. Magnetic recording &c. heads. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. July 14, 1960 [July 14, 1959], No. 24606/60. Class 40 (2). [Also in Group XXXVI] A reading head with a Hall plate 1 in the gap has a ferrite bridge-piece 11 grooved at 21 so as to bear on the plate only over the areas A, so as to avoid shunting of signal flux across the non-active part of the Hall plate adjacent the record. Alternatively, a wire connection (Fig. 1, not shown), accommodated in the groove may be made to the upper edge of the plate. The reading gap may also be better defined by highly permeable pole-shoes (Figs. 4, 5, not shown).
