Abstract

A poisonous bait for the control of field mice and forest voles comprises at least partially peeled, poisoned kernal parts of an oily fruit encased in a tight wrapper. The wrapper may consist of regenerated cellulose film, or water-repellent closely-applied paper or cardboard. Specified kernal parts are derived from sunflower seed or ground nuts and may be poisoned by the addition of zinc phosphide. Enticing substances such as bitter almond oil and/or dwarf pine oil may also be included.
