Abstract

Class 100(2) In an ink-supplying mechanism comprising co-operating rollers for conveying ink to a printing-cylinder, there is provided means for effecting axial reciprocation of one or more of the rollers, said means comprising a crank lever (7) freely mounted for oscillation and having at least one arm to which is articulated a roller spindle, an actuating member in the form of a rocking lever (1) oscillated at a constant amplitude in timed relation with the machine, an element normally located in a fixed position on and movable with the rocking lever, a link (18) connecting and articulated to the lever (1) and the said element thereon to transmit the oscillation of the rocking lever (1) to the crank lever (7) to reciprocate the roller, and manual means for adjusting the position of said element on the rocking lever to adjust the throw of the roller. The lever I is oscillated about a pivot 2 from a disc 6 driven in timed relation with the printing- machine. Two rollers 11, 13 are reciprocated in opposite directions by two arms 7a, 7b of the crank lever 7, which is freely mounted on a shaft 8. The adjustable element is in the form of a glut 20 engaging in a recess 21 in the lever 1. When the glut is aligned with the pivot 2, there is no axial movement of the rollers. To move the glut, a screw 22 is manually rotated and through a nut 23 swings an arm 24 about the shaft 8, and thence, through a link 25 and the link 18, moves the glut. Two pairs of rollers can be controlled by such mechanism, the two adjusting screws being close together.
